Our Volunteers
Our volunteers are crucial in ensuring our service runs smoothly. They are at the heart of everything we do. From wardrobe management to our volunteer Board of Trustees, we couldn’t do what we do without them!
Janice joined The Suit Works several years ago and she has continued to ensure our giant wardrobe is managed to perfection!
“I left work a few years ago after working full time for 38 years. Although I enjoyed my free time, I felt that something was missing. After an initial chat with Vanda I thought what a really worthwhile organisation it was, so I started volunteering on a weekly basis and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I have met some really lovely people and have seen first hand the great service the The Suit Works provides. Clients leave looking great with a new found confidence enabling them to make a great first impression at their interview, Together with working with Vanda and Faye, all of this makes this a very enjoyable and fulfilling volunteering role.”

Dean has been with us for over a year in various roles but has recently become a Client and Wardrobe Volunteer. He is responsible for many of the transformations you see all over our social media platforms.
“I love clothes so the chance to sort some of the amazing donations that we get is something that I really enjoy. Doing the styling session with clients I also see how much their confidence and self-esteem improves from a good suit.”
Jane is our newest Wardrobe Volunteer. She has fitted in wonderfully with the Wardrobe Team and helps keep our donations organised. We’re happy to have her!
“Helping others is an important value of mine. Following the challenges of the pandemic my circumstances changed and I found myself with some free time for the first time in many years! The Suit Works offers a service which I wholeheartedly support and I really enjoy my days volunteering there knowing that I am playing a small part in changing peoples’ lives.”

Eleanor is our Data and Impact Analyst volunteer. She works hard behind the scenes ensuring we are collecting the data we need to measure our impact. This work is vital in ensuring we continue to have the support of funders.
“I had been following The Suit Works for a while on social media when I saw they were looking for volunteers to help them move house. A few chats with Faye later and I’d signed up to be a regular volunteer, I love dedicating my time to support others and wanted to be more involved in the great work that happens behind the scenes! Everyone deserves to feel their best when going for an interview.”
